Garden

I'm not a great gardener, but I do like to pop a few annuals in the ground, annually.  This year the nasturtium all died, but the lantana are pleased with themselves, as are the petunias.  The winter squash is probably not going to make it.  I moved the bird bath into our teeny flower garden this spring.  Smartest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life.  The bird bath used to be under a tree far from the house and I rarely filled it with water.  This resulted in guilt galore. Now I fill it daily when I water the flowers.  The birds hop in and go to town. So fun to watch.  Here’s the exciting news.  Today a new backyard bird showed up.  I think it was a pine warbler but it might have been a yellow throated vireo.  I am still buzzing on a backyard bird high right now.

G- hmmm it's a tricky one today. Loved your garden one and so glad you moved that bird bath. Watching the birds splash around is fun and I like to think they do so appreciate that we fill the bath for them to cool off in. Here goes: G-grocery. I generally dislike going to the grocery--especially during the school year because it takes up so much time and is annoying. But I must say that once it is summer vacation, I rather enjoy going to the grocery because I can go early, it's not crowded, and I get to talk to my people there and not feel so cranky.

Loved your garden and birdbath stories too.

G - Garage There is a small garage set back from our house but we have never put our car in it because, well, it’s just not that kind of garage. Everything else goes in there though including paint of all sorts. A couple of years ago I used most of the old paint in the garage to repaint the outside of the garage. It looks pretty good now in a crazy quilt way.
I love your photos. I hope you found your camera. We have a bird bath but it is very hard to keep water in it. It seems like a couple of hours after I fill it the water is gone.

Did I tell you that I once filled my bird bath too full, and a bird drowned?
I brought you flower seeds from the northeast. Miss Rumphius kind. Want to come get them? I'm home with Samantha.
I too want to know if you found your camera.
And, I take it you are not going to WLU.

N, The grocery story is Husbandman's domain, as you know. I can get fairly agitated in the grocery store.

C, I love that you painted your garage with the leftovers. I love your backyard.

UL, It's the same here. They use the water quickly, but at least a few visitors get a bath. Thx for commenting!

D, That bird bath story is pretty sad. Yes, after i bought a new camera, I found my camera. It was at M's house. I want to visit you today. Time?

My nasturtiums are dead to. I don't think they can take the kind of heat we've had. Sad bird story, D. Husband is carving limestone bird baths and makes sure to make them a bit shallow and also carves a little "landing pad" of some sort in the middle.

I love my little garden as well. The birds taking baths are hysterical. Sometimes when I turn the sprinkler on they fly through it and are such fun to watch. I feel like my grandma.
