The Talons

Okay, here's what happened yesterday.  I watched a Cooper's Hawk scoop down on Ballantine, scrubble through some ivy vines and kill a small bird with its talons!

Enough said.

Wow! Did you see the hawk eat the bird too? Nature rocks.

Also, I hope Quinn isn't keeping those dead birds in his room.

Also, we have two bald eagles who nest near our house. I'd like to see them kill something. As long as it's not a child.

Umm...Mini can do that on a walk with no problem. She violently snaps the neck and then casually tosses it aside. Now that's action.

I can see how I might have overreacted to this situation. It was thrilling at the time, but just par for the course, in the overall scheme of things.

Still, it's always a joy to witness the circle of life in action.

As long as I'm not the small creature running through the ivy I'm fine with the circle of life.

That's pretty cool. Almost as cool as the Honey Badger!

Merry Christmas!

I know about the circle of life, but I don't think I could stand to see it. I'm sorry you're feeling ill. Merry Christmas.
