Today I told a friend that I don't go to funerals as often as I probably should.
She said, "My parents taught me it was important to give respect."
So then I felt like a jerk.
I should go to more funerals.
I'm not sure why I avoid them.

I hate going to funerals and try to avoid them too. I like to remember the person as I knew them and I like to think that is how they want to be remembered. I also like to think that they know how much I dislike funerals and they do not want me there! N
