The Greatness

Today's off to a great start.  Had to fast last night so I could get a little health check up for insurance purposes. Early appointment, no coffee, out in the freezing cold, needle in my arm, blood removed, measurements of my body, handed a piece of paper that tells me I'm obese and then given a survey to fill out regarding my satisfaction with today's visit.  I have to say, the whole thing's kind of brought me a little down.  This is just not the way I like to start a day.

I went too! What time was your appt? We really should have coordinated better on this. I went to the Y afterwards-no one was there-we could have gone to breakfast and that would have been a much better start to the day! Thanks again for those notes! They were awesome. Do your first-second teachers need more poems/songs- I have a bunch I use and could make copies if you think they'd like some. We are meeting Caleb at Lennies today-that's about all we have planned on this cold day.

Jesus christ! This is the worst start to the weekend I've heard of.

You're fabulous, and we all know it. I hate those insurance people.

Boooo! This is a crummy way to start Saturday morning. Insurance people know little unless it has to do with making money.

That stinks! And I agree with KC. You are fabulous!

After seeing 127 Hours, the excellent film about Aron Ralston amputating his own arm, I'm feeling less down about my obesity.

Thanks for coming by and being nice, pallies.

OMG! I can't believe this junk is still going on.
At least they didn't call you "morbidly obese."
Disgusting people!

This is another reason to hate charts with numbers on them without taking in the "whole" person. I was told last time that I was 5 lb from being overweight. I had just lost 5 lb and was feeling fairly good about it.

N- I would love copies of the songs. I've started singing a lot with my kinders and firsties these last few years.

Yeah, I was ticked because I have lost some weight and still, I'm obese. Then Husbandman said, "Well I was almost in the overweight category!" Husbandman, COME ON! NOT HELPING!

Anyway, thanks for the helpful encouragement. And yes Nance, I want poems and songs PLEASE!

We had to do the insurance thing awhile back too. Husband does not do well with the whole needle/blood thing and when he didn't seem to be coming out I went back to check on him. He was lying on the floor, quite yellow, with three nurses standing over him. We got him some juice and got him on his feet and I limped him over to BBC for bagels and coffee, which are a good antidote for that kind of thing. As mornings go, a person could do better.
