The Trip

Teendaughter left this morning. We're not too happy about that. But we're grateful for a long fun visit. Referring to the fist of 5, this visit was certainly a 5 and then some. Both TD and #1 Son have incredible energy. They are movers and shakers who pack their days and nights like alpacas. I'm amazed how they can stay up late night after night visiting with pals. I probably should stay up late too, but I love sleep so much. Could my love of sleep be keeping me from a range of untold adventures? It's something to ponder.

TD looked VERY good, and seemed very happy. College suits her.
And, she'll be back at Spring Break.

It does suit her. And I am happy about that.
Sadly, she just called. Her 20 minute layover in Las Vegas just turned into a 4 hour layover.

They just added another 25 minutes to the estimated time of departure. Radio blasting a song that goes "When it comes to love, I always do it my way!"

Lame.

That is lame. And another lame thing is the fact that I've not done any of the work I said I would do.

Did you buy food or drink? I feel like you're stuck in limbo. Not good.

See - TD needs a Kindle. They're great when you're stuck in an airport.

We all need kindles. They should be given out at birth in the hospital.
Or maybe when you turn 18 you get your kindle. We could write a short story like The Giver about the Kindle ceremonies and how they differ with certain ages and various power positions in the community.

p.s. I'm writing a "position statement" because I'm running for the ncte nominating committee. Don't know why I'm doing this so it's kind of hard to get a statement going.

I served on that committee. The best part about it is that you have a say in who will be nominated for the various offices. It enables you to seek like-minded folks.

And yes, everyone should have a Kindle. I like your story idea. Meanwhile, forget about Avatar figures, save your pennies, and they'll add up to a Kindle.

I wrote a really dumb position statement. But the good part of that is... Maybe I won't get elected and I don't have to worry about being on this committee. Tho it doesn't look like it's that hard. So either way I'm good.

Maybe 2010 will be the year of the Kindle. We'll have to wait and see.

Ms. H, when and where are your ncte conferences? I'm feeling a travel bug coming on and might want to/be able to meet you somewhere sometime soon. Maybe it doesn't even have to be for ncte?
