A red tailed hawk flew down into my backyard about 15 minutes ago. His back was turned toward me, but he seemed to be pecking at a small creature which he held beneath his fierce talons. I'm hoping it was a chipmunk. He's gone now, but I'm pretty sure he'll be back soon
and the killing will continue.
