The Ride

I'm on the road, my friends.  I'm on the road.  I've got my boot and my one shoe.  I've got my scooter. I've got my audio book.  WooHOO!
I hope my mom and dad have the stockings hung with care.  I don't think that's asking too much.

We did kind of a cool thing. They all wrote down important messages in the book. Then we voted for 2. We pretended we were Julius Lester, being interviewed about his book. What would he say were twoimportant ideas in his book? I imagined he was being interviewed by Terry Gross. I wanted the "We all have a different story" to win, but the kids won out.
