The Literacy
I finished a podcast with the little 3rdies today. Click here if you want to listen to it. It's not the most exciting podcast on the planet, but it's not absolutely the most boring podcast either. I enjoyed working with the peeps, at any rate, and they did feel proud of their work. I hope we get a few comments.
The podcast is 7 minutes long, but it's worth it in a way. I mean, I know you'll never get those 7 minutes back, but think of what you'll gain. Think about what you'll gain and then tell me if you actually gained anything.
Comments
The kids were terrific. Their intonation, inflection, and enunciation was perfect.
I loved the way they delivered their lines.
And this podcast ended with a flourish! Wonderful!
And, I want to tell you that Wednesday Surprise has been a favorite book of mine for many years. When I first read it, I cried. I wonder if that happened to anyone in this group of 3rd graders.
And finally, you've made me aware of the Literacy Site, so I will be clicking on it.

Is it spring break yet??????
I am literacy as well!
Well done.
written sleepover stories and made construction paper backpacks with 1st graders.
Learned about coral reefs with some kinders
Learned about broad leaf forest birds with some thirdies.
Podcasted with the thirdies in question
Interviewed 1/2 the fourthies about their literacy goals
and
facilitated 5 grade level meetings
and
a bunch of other stuff that's not super interesting.
So...tomorrow I'm heading upstairs to listen to the podcast with my buds. Then we're writing persuasive letters to other 3rd grade classes to get kids to listen to it. I love being a literacy partner this week.
