The Nap

I was happy to get a massage today, but here's the thing. After the massage, I had a nap. And I believe I've written before about what happens if I nap. The rest of the afternoon was nothing but morose crankerishness. I felt a little terrible about not working on the diss this afternoon, but I have to let that go and move on. I'm reading a Frank Smith book called Ourselves. V. good.

I'm sure everyone noted that Susan's review, under your "ourselves", is 4 years old. Frank really does have a new book out this summer. It's Reading:FAQ. (Frequently Asked Questions) TCP.
Great for professional conversations.

Hey girlfriend, just catching up on your blog, i'm way behind. I'm so far behind on my own blog that I've given up hope of ever blogging again. That's what I always end up doing with this kind of thing...journal, blog, etc. I'm big on naps, friend. I have the amazing knack of falling dead asleep for 15 minutes and waking up refreshed and ready to go. It took some years of training, but it can be done when a person is desperate enough. I vote for Water For Elephants...great read (thanks for giving it to me for b'day!!) The new Khalid Hosseini book...57 holds at the library. So I have a good excuse to buy it. The new Michael Chabon...also 50+ holds. I feel a book spending spree coming on. Oh, and one more summer reading recommendation: The Meaning of Night, by Michael Cox. Great read!
