The Penultimate Day

Here we are at Penultimate Day of Fall Break.  It's truly been glorious.  At this moment in time, I'm sitting out on the deck and Husbandman is making french toast.  I'm on a little extra bit of buzzy cheer because yesterday, it came to my attention that one of our students and his cousin went missing on a camping trip in a state park.  Everyone was worried and stressed.  But after 15 hours, the two Littles were found safe and sound.  Wow and yay!  The kid and his cousin spent the night in a hollow log, eating twigs. I find this extremely encouraging.  There are twigs strewn all over my back yard right now.  I could last out here for awhile.  If I don't show up for school on Monday, I'll probably be back here, doing my best to survive, inspired by the two little Tuffians who survived in the wilds of Kentucky. Though I love my job, I'm sorely tempted to walk out into the backyard and start living off the grid.

I am going to start living off the grid too. And by that I mean that I am only going to be reading your blog online. The rest of the internet just doesn't measure up.

p.s. these photos!
