The Gash

Right before I slipped on some ice last night, I thought, "This could be slippery." Then I went down. As you can see, I have a fairly serious gash. A jagged piece of limestone cut into my palm. Someone at work ridiculously suggested that I cover it with a bandaid, but I asked, "How can I show it to people all day long if it's covered with a bandaid?" (What a weirdo). We have an elmo projector in the compound classroom so I was even able to display the gash on the television. The sixers cried out, "Please! Stop!" But I wanted to give my gash the attention it deserved.

Dear fellow blog readers:
I urge you not to click on
the link for the word "deserved."
I did and I sincerely regret having
done so.

After Peter's warning I just had to look at what all the fuss was about- YUCK! That picture reminds me of a class Alison took at this Arts Institute where she learned how to make fake wounds using stage makeup. She made a very realistic oozy wound on my arm. Other parents had bullet wounds and burns on all parts of the body. We were an unsightly bunch.

I hope your cut isn't hurting too much!

Hmm,mmm. It looks very much like a gash I recieved once, when I tripped and fell whi9le carrying a bottle of booze. The bottle broke and cjut my hand when I landed on it. What were you carrying?

Sorry about the typos in the previous message. I am NOT boozing it.

i was carrying a bunch of school related books, stuff like "mosaic of thought" and "read and retell" and "reading, writing and rising up." And somehow that made it seem even more unfair.

if you google image "gash" ...you get some great pix. i love that i'm not alone in the desire to display the gash. i have to think more about why so many people want to do this.
