The Milk
Saw FARMAGEDDON tonight. If you want to see it you should. It's about how our government keeps raiding small family farms that are trying to sell raw milk to people who want to buy and drink raw milk. I'm a little bit on the fence about this. The movie made raw milk sound like the best thing since sliced bread. But I'm partial to the whole pasteurization process due to the social conditioning I've experienced since birth. Here's my question. Do you, or would you, drink raw milk? I can't decide about this. Because of ecoli.

LOL.
I am also against ecoli.
When I was a kid we spent part of our summers on my aunt's farm, and my uncle sometimes shot the milk right into our mouths when he was milking the cow. The first time, I was surprised it was so warm. I guess I expected it to come out refrigerated. I wouldn't mind drinking raw milk if I knew the cows personally, but I
wouldn't buy it.

The farm where we have purchased raw milk in the past is used for demonstration by the health department. My "pets" loved it. The source was a bit of a drive so we stopped purchasing it.
I have experienced ecoli and it did not agree with me. Personally, I prefer 1% cold milk, esp. on my honey nut cheerios. B&B
In the film, they said you should drink whole milk if you're going the pasteurized route. Not skim.
This kind of goes against everything I've stood for.
I, too, am on the fence. I'm not so sure pasteurization is a bad thing, although if people want raw milk they should be able to buy it. I'm not a big milk drinker in any case and I have a lot of milk "issues" which have nothing to do with it's health benefits. Husband related to me this fact that I should use whole milk rather than skim on my cereal. I'm sticking with skim because it is thin like water and I do not like my liquids to have any kind of "thickness" unless they are made thick with ice cream. I'm not even big on them being opaque. I do buy only organic milk, because the thought of it is a little less icky. I'm not sure why. See, I have issues with milk. I dislike soy milk, I really do.
I've been polling everyone and no one really seems willing to drink the raw milk.
I'm still tempted by all I heard on the film though.
