Night one of Lotus was a great success. In an hour I'm going to slog a 5k. Haven't done this in about ten years.

We have a 12K coming up (October 3rd), and that is as far as I have ever run at one time. It is only feasible because: 1) it is from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge, around the edge of SF so the scenery is beyond belief 2) we go out for pancakes afterward 3) we spend the whole weekend in SF, attending the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, an awesome -- and free -- festival in Golden Gate Park. Performers in this year's line up include Elvis Costello and the Sugarcanes, T-Bone Burnett, Robert Earl Keen, Joe Ely, Patti Smith, Steve Earle, Justin Townes Earle, Dave Alvin and the Guilty Women, Guy Clark, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and Trombone Shorty, as well as many others.
Y'all need to get yourselves here for this show. And there is a 7k version of the Bridge to Bridge if that's what it takes...
Wish I could have been there to dance AND to cheer you on! But as Kid Cudi says, Sing along lil mama/ you don't have to worry about no drama. ...So we can all learn from that.

Thanks so much for meeting with me yesterday. It was so helpful! But really--trying to do RTI without the support you guys have seems like a joke when I look at the whole thing. But, guess we'll just do what we can. What a fun Lotus weekend! N
