I saw Inconvenient Truth last weekend, the Al Gore movie about global warming. Now I'm thinking ...Gore in 08. The movie's excellent, so you might want to check it out.
They have the same guitar teacher and she had a recital two weeks ago. She had them play a song together. We loved it of course. I wish I could play an instrument.

i missed roxanne and went to Connie White/Geraldine Vandekleut and Andy Manning instead. All 3 gave great talks. Andy Manning started off withsome facts about weird organisms thatfeed off the bones of dead whales. but i never gotwhat that hadto do withthe rest ofhis talk. Ineed tofind him andask him today.
today...lewison/harste/leland are on the docket. then i may go hear thebomers,and then elaine garan/susan ohanian. theni haveto do my gig, and then i think we may gosee the parthenon. did you know there's a replica of the parthenon here?
dinner with katie, tasha andamy last night. good times. their dogs have something called "doggles" thatthey wear on their faces when they go in the car. dog goggles. would minnie jean want some of those for xmas?
good job on the switching kc. richard beach gave a great talk yesterday. he, like one thousand others, seemed taken aback that i'm not donewith the diss. it's been a litte embarrassing.

About those people who send out disapproving looks, Please, fire back something powerfully hateful. They need to be reminded not to stick their hands, or noses in someone else's business.
How many of them wrote their diss., went back to fulltime teaching, had to teenagers, and did all the other mom duties all at the same time? Those who cast shade in your direction were probably fulltime graduate students who had a spouse who cooked, and cleaned for them while showed the world their smarts.
I think they should get on their knees and kiss your feet and say, "how do you do balance all the demands and still make time to do a diss!"
