The Fox

Mitzi took this fantastic fox foto in her yard today. This is probably the same fox I blogged about that I didn't get to see at Mitzi's house. The fox other people did get to see. But here's the thing. I saw two pileated woodpeckers in my backyard today. AND two robins were just going to town in the sprinkler this afternoon. So what do you think is more impressive:
a.) fox.
b.) TWO pileated woodpeckers.
c.) robins cavorting in sprinklers.
d.) b and c.
e.) other

definitely B. for sure. i love pileated woodpeckers, and foxes are kind of nasty, imo.

husband man thinks that if you're going to pick B, you might as well pick D.

I remember you also hate squirrels, right?

I saw the fox and I swear I would've called you over had I realized you were not one of the ten or fifteen people looking out the window! However, having seen the fox, I would still pick B, because pileateds always give me a thrill. They are amazing creatures.

and, okay -- i'm changing to d. that's my final answer.

I choose e because I think adopting a cute puppy and seeing it play happily in your backyard is the best!!

I'm going for fox (a) as well. Mostly because a fox is one of my favorite animals and I've only had one fox sighting in my entire life. Even though there was a fox at Mitzi's house and many people saw it, I wasn't summoned to the window. (Julie, I don't blame you.) Okay, I'll tell you about the one time I did actually see a fox. As the story goes, there were actually 2 foxes. We were at Pajaro Dunes and driving in our car on a small road to a rental condo. A mom fox and its baby were just trotting along down the road. Their red fur stood out against the white sand dunes and both were very beautiful. I love this memory because my mother in law kept yelling, "I saw them first! I saw them first!" and I remember thinking, "I wish I had seen them first!" And then I had to accept that my mother in law and I had some similar traits.
And that, my friends, is the story of why I choose A.
