Today I felt like I was in the newschool groove. I felt no embarrassment about calling the office to have wildchild taken out for a little break. When asked if my call could be considered an emergency, I replied, "Well, I don't know if I would call it an emergency, but I do know that no one's able to learn in here because one individual is causing quite a ruckus." Friend on phone said, "Yeah, we call that an emergency." And then she appeared and wild child disappeared. Woot! He came back later and all was well. That exchange would have mortified me at the compound, but I'm okay with the takes-a-village concept now.
