Let's Go!
Tr: Yalla!
We're back from our journey to Jerusalem, Petra and Wadi Rum. This was a great trip my friends, a great trip indeed. Now 20 Something Daughter and Husbandman are working on 20 Something's taxes. So, thats not super exciting, but we can't shirk our responsibilities.
On another note, #1 Son is now 20 years old, as of this very day. When we had our tour of Petra, our first guide Tall Ali kept referring to our group as a tribe. "Tribe, we must stay together. Tribe, it's good to tell you about this important place." I can not wait until our tribe is all back together this summer.
On another note, we hiked up a very steep trail to this monument called The Monastery. The clever Nabataeans made the city of Petra around 100 BC. While we rested and drank some tea and admired their handiwork, I saw a hiker climbing along the very top of this monument even though there were clear signs about that said, "No climbing." If #1 Son had been with us he would have been up there with the guy, giving me a heart attack. So remember to follow rules when we come back to Petra some day, #1. We are going to talk to #1 in 56 minutes, so our tribe will be together via Skype very soon. All is well.
One last note. Please go to Jordan as soon as possible. Our guides, tall Ali in Petra and short Ali in Wadi Rum told us that tourism has been on the down low lately. There's no reason not to go to Jordan. It's absolutely marvelous.
That's it for this rambling, scrambling will of the wisp blog entry. To recap, great trip and now taxes, Wonderful #1 Son's birthday, digital tribe reunion, Jordanian tourism booster. There you go.
