I like the movement toward the desk-less classroom written about here and here. In my last classroom, I had tables and not desks and I did like that.
Not much time to figure this out.

I like desks because they are always moveable. Sometimes I have them in twos or threes, random circles, separated by who is on what stage in the writing proces, like a rainbow, and of course in rows for the standardized tests :/
I like that desks are moveable, but I like open spaces for laying around on the floor too. It's probably a moot point because school starts in 2 weeks and I'll just play around with the furniture we have. But still, it's Creativity Share Thursday, so a teacher can dream.
Can we collaborate on this? I have a classroom to set up, too. #noteacherdesk #creativespaces #invitingdesign
I'm going to read/skim a book called The Third Teacher. Get it??
Yes. I will get this book at once. #LetUsSkim

I saw my new room. It's the awesomest room ever.
A friend/colleague volunteered to move out of the room so I could have the space with the 3rd graders. She works with teachers and small groups of kiddos and gave up her gorgeous space so that I could have the larger room. Is that nice or what????
Here's the cool part. When I started working at NewOldSchool 24 years ago.... I was in that very room!
Walking on sunshine....Woohoo... #ThemeSong of the day!
That makes the move more awesome! Can't wait to see what you do with the room:)
