The Car

We will probably have a new Honda Civic soon.  Today we did some test driving.
I should have done a million things today, but instead I napped.  And watched a muted Animal Planet show on killing.  I saw fish being killed by sea lions, whales, bald eagles, grizzlies, and human beings.
The whales jumped clear out of the water when they killed the fish, making a showy display.  The grizzlies simply stood there and salmon jumped into their mouths.  I'm heading out to a lovely vegetarian dinner now, thanks to Mitz.  More like the grizzly than the whale.

What are you presenting at NCTE?
We took our bikes up to Indy and rode some of the Monon Trail today-it was quite fun!

Something about the Afghanistan text set project. Not exactly sure what yet.

Your bike trip sounds awesome.

I love the air right now.

Re your Twitter:
Do you mean Persian poetry in general, or specifically the poetry done by Omar K.?
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

Sigh! D/

Omar K.

We started this morning with #1 asking about "take the cash and let the credit go." Then we moved on from there...

Some for the Glories of This World; and some
Sigh for the Prophet's Paradise to come;
Ah, take the Cash, and let the Credit go,
Nor heed the rumble of a distant Drum!

Of course the "cash and credit" translation came from a guy named Fitzgerald...

Here's one for #1 on those mornings when he wants to sleep in:
Behold the morning! Rise up, O youth and quickly fill thyself with this rosy wine sparkling from the crystal cup of the dawn!

He needs that one.
He slept from 6 pm yesterday
to 6:30 am this day.

Come fill the cup, buddy!

(the coffee cup of course)

What the heck are you guys even talking about? Obviously a huge hole in my education.
But on to important things. What's wrong with the van at night and what color is the honda?

Rubiyat, Omar Khayam.
(i learned that rubiyat basically just means poem written in quatrains). (fyi)

The thing that turns the lights on fell apart in my hand. So the lights go on and off randomly. We're talking about the little red car here.

And we think the civic will be blue, but they may be lying that they even have the car for us.

I feel sorry for car dealers because I think they lie all the time. Maybe they don't?

It's very easy to change the little round thing that turns the lights on. I'm assuming you mean a dimmer switch? But you have to make sure to turn the electricity off at the breaker, just to be on the safe side. But honestly, it's a piece of cake. Also, we need to celebrate the impending birthday!!

Does it seem odd to anyone else that you need an entire new car because the light switch is broken on your current car?

Perhaps I'm just not understanding the magnitude of the situation? And not that I'm trying to deny anyone a new car. Personally, I think they're grand.

It struck us as exceedingly odd. And still does.

I wish you a happy birthday WEEK, Ms. Mary!
