The irritation continues about the news in the paper yesterday that our new school will not be built for awhile. I can't seem to let it go. These kids should get a new school. We told them they were getting a new school.
I still think they should have at least done a survey of some kind to see if people in the neighborhood will use the Charter school. And, if people have a choice between a charter school and a new Fairview, might they not be happy with the new Fairview? And what about all the money already spent on (or owed to) the architects and designers? This is really disgusting. D/
I can not even tell you how annoyed I am. I can't wait to welcome the peeps back in August with, "YOu know that new school we talked about for a year? You're not getting that. Because you might want to go to another school instead. We're not sure, so we're just cancelling your new building."

I think the school corp is scared that another school might end up doing better than their traditional way. I think that they are using this "no building" idea as a way to make people mad at the new charter school. Do you think they really won't build it?
I think they are fearful of losing kids to the charter school. But I don't think they're saying they won't build the school to get people angry. I think they will be in a tight spot with the public if they build a school that houses 500 kids and they only have 150 in attendance. I'm pessimistic about the possibility of it being built at this point. But maybe things will change. I think kids from other schools are more likely to go to newcharterschool, but i could be wrong.

In my experience -- which, granted is one of interested observer and not one of parent -- kids who go to charter schools have parents who have it together -- or who are at least trying -- for the sake of their kids -- to get it together. Forgive me for saying that might not be the case for the majority of the parents at your site...Please, please tell me I'm wrong.
