The Perk

Open House was last night and 5 people showed up. I loved that. We had a relaxed, pleasant chat. Well most of us did, one of the peeps talked on her cellphone during her visit. She was multitasking, which I'm all for. A calm and cheerful Open House. Other educators seemed down about the turnout. Don't rock the boat, my friends. Be careful what you ask for. And other cliches along those lines.

We had Open House too, and I am wiped out! Turnout was about half, and very low key. How the heck have you been?

I talked to about 200 people at our open house and I'm a librarian! Plus I had someone comment on the fact that I don't look at all like the picture on the front bulletin board (it was taken a few years ago). I was stunned that someone would say that. I asked her if she knew why I looked different and she said she did. omg. judy

i have a problem with my profile. i think i need to just make it unavailable.

anyway, here's what i said:
i would KILL for a low turnout. instead, i'm going to get a bunch of people who are going to be wigging out about how there's sex (omg!!) in every singe book we read this year, esp. in the odyssey. those ancient greeks were pretty racy.

could you delete that last one forever, lee? thx.ht

judy, that story did not restore my faith in human beings, which has been sorely tested these last couple of weeks by 38,990 college students (that's the official number, folks, and each and every one of them is driving while on a cellphone)(the last part might be a slight exaggeration).

Just sign me,

The whole Open House concept is flawed, I think.
I suppose every concept has flaws.
on another note,
I was explaining "every dog has its day" to a bunch of kids today and i found it a bit tricky.
