The Reentry





This week good pal Menosky gave me this whole cart full of books for my classroom. She also gave me this new classroom pet. I named him Carney. New stuff for the room makes me excited about re-entering the compound. All praise to Menosky, and gratitude as well. She also gave me some wine, but I'm keeping that at home.

I'd be tempted to take the dog home and leave the wine in the classroom. Reason #72 why I should never teach. I love your enthusiasm. It reminds me of all the summers we helped Mom2 set up her classroom. Ah, August.

Hi Lee, Thought of you today, and coincidentally your post was about teaching - after 2 year hiatus I start a new teaching job Aug. 28th (8th grade English). Small school - when I asked 7th grade Eng. teacher who dept. head was, she looked at me quizzically and responded, "You ARE the 8th grade English department!" No pressure there.

CUTE doggie - I looked hard to see if he was breathing or not...enjoy rest of summer! Geri (Gmahling)

Carney is very nice. He just hangs out and sleeps most of the time.

JM. The wine idea is so tempting. I'll be bringing my kiddos in with me this week to put up the yellow paper. I always buy cool border. And this year is no exception.

C, I love that book too. JW ordered copies of The DARK 30 for me today. I can't wait to read it with the new sixers. Have you read it??? Check it out some of the stories are terrific.
