The Scramble

Our new school is not going to be ready to go for the first day of school.  I've been in denial about this for awhile, but today even I had to accept facts.   The technology hasn't arrived.  Furniture is unassembled.  Unpacked boxes fill most every classroom.   It's too bad because I wanted the first day to be a magical experience like Miracle on 42nd Street when the kid gets the new house at the end and we learn that there really is a Santa.   Now that I'm accepting facts, I am adjusting my expectations.  The kiddos will still be happy with the new compound.  And we'll all live to tell the tale.

It's kind of sad when you have to lower expectations -- when the reality of a situation becomes unavoidable. But it can also help and, later, feel a little bit like a revelation.

Love to you and your family. Have things cooled down in you household?

Hey C, It IS a little sad. So, I'm hoping the revelation sensation kicks in soon.

Things have cooled here. Our local repair people have us chilling once again.

Love 2 u dearheart!

Maybe it really will be a Miracle on 42nd St, and your new digs will be ready for Christmas.

Did you know, btw, that the celebrities who pose for the READ posters choose their own books?

Hey Lady. i did know that. What's frustrating about the ALA site, is it's hard to see which book some of them are holding. And they don't list the book in the description of the poster. Hence, frustration.

Gonna see you tonight???
