The Toast
Husbandman returns home in a few hours and I know everyone here will be thrilled. I've been remiss about offering the offspring food and drink made at the home site, but we've had some great meals out at dining establishments in town. When our bevvies arrived last night, Teendaughter called for a toast. I raised my glass and exclaimed, "I'm sorry for not feeding you guys."
We clinked glasses, but after drinking #1 son opined, "You know, an apology isn't typically used as a toast."
He's probably right, but it felt like something I had to say.
