The Problems

Friday started out really well. Kids were ready for their lit. circle discussions. Everyone loved commenting on the podcast at computer lab. And the entire class is flipping over Selznick's book, Invention of Hugo Cabret. But at the end of the day with just minutes til leaving time, 2 peeps just flipped out and got on my very last nerve. This is what I don't get. Why is it that I can have a quite good day, but 5 minutes of wildery can wreck the rest of my afternoon, my evening, and even part of my next day?
The other problem that's happening right now is the ugliness of the melting dirty snow. Plus, I'm in school, and water's leaking in to our hallway. Our poor custodian's been mopping, bailing and bucketing, while I sit in my classroom looking for a file I seem to have lost while eating girl scout cookies (trefoils).
And the other problem I'm having is that I can't think of anything to blog about, and yet every day I want to blog so badly.

We saw The Wrestler last night. It made wrestling look even more unpleasant than it normally does, when I watch it for 15 seconds and then switch the channel. I've learned I have an intense aversion to wrestling.

I'm at school today, working on stuff. I'm going to use my comments as a kind of twittering, because I can't get to my twitter here at school. Or my facebook. That may help my productivity.

At school already?! My friend you are working way to hard! Hopefully you will finish up early and get out to walk in the sunshine (if it sticks around!) We are going to the Soup Bowl Benefit next weekend--you should join us!

I've always wanted to go to the soup bowl benefit. Is it Saturday?

Mitz and I are going to a movie at 4, so that's why i'm in here early.

I'm so glad the dirty snow is melting away. that was ghastly yesterday.

I'm reading over the edublog from when I taught the sixers, to gather notes about an article M and I may write about the zine project. They were such good writers.

I'm going to be out of school on Tuesday for a surgery on my tooth. So I need to think about lesson plans.

Soup Bowl is Sunday night-5. Get your tickets ASAP it always sells out. Get JW, DM, ML, KVC and others to come--it is a neat thing!
I too am glad for the melt--ran outside 2x and even walked at BP today! Surgery on tooth does not sound good. I am doing some school stuff here, and listening to part of EC practice, and am wondering where Q is--must have hw.

He does have HW. He has to write a journalism piece on whether or not kids should be made to lose recess as a punishment.

What's the verdict-recess or not? Did he interview you for a teacher's perspective? Any kids? How is he liking journalism class? E has a paper to edit tonight. Q just called this second to interview me! HA! I think I am going to step out into this sunshine--Come on, Spring!

I told him that if the kid was playing during work time, then he was going to work during play time, But i also told him that it's not effective for some kids, so you've got to ditch it for a lot of kids.

i should go outside, but i'm working on sub plans for tuesday because i'm going to have tooth surgery. have i already mentioned this?

then wednesday i get another shot in my foot. and now i have an ingrown toe nail as well. geezlouise.

What the heck is happening to our bodies?! Your week is NOT sounding like much fun! I sure hope you are planning some dinners or something for fun. I said the same thing to Q about playing during work time so work during play time! He was funny.
