The Assessments
I was at car duty on Friday and a little kiddo came bopping out of school with a big smile on his face. His mom said, "Hey Buddy, how was your day?"
He said, "Good. We did another assessment."
The mom and I looked at each other. "That's a little sad," I told her, "but I admire his upbeat attitude."
This week the Thirdlanders are going to have some assessments. I hope they enjoy them, but I also hope these assessments don't stand out as highlights.

I read "cat duty" at first, given the photo and my tendency to always be thinking about cats. I thought maybe you had classroom cats. One older, loving, classroom cat would be awesome. I keep lobbying for an office cat, but no can do.
I read "cat" duty, too! That's funny. Cats are just okay to me, though. They make me sneeze a lot.
We're starting off the year with assessments to (although I had the reading moved to the end of the month). It makes me sad and a bit angry.
We will do some assessments this week in third grade, as well. I have a feeling many of the children will like them. Isn't that weird?
