I'm ready to head in, clean the desk, fill out some paperwork. I have 2 songs playing in my head.
"Walking on Sunshine" and the classic, "Looks Like We Made It." If I play my cards right, I'll walk out of the compound today with no need to return til mid August. Wish me luck.

We had our portfolio Round Up on Friday. Our visitors were mightily impressed with the writing the peeps have done. We ended the day with a round up celebration, courtesy of Good Pal Dorothy Menosky. We got these great hats and a bunch of other western treats. Thanks, Dorothy!!!!
I'm happy I moved to newschool this year. Already this weekend I've caught myself making plans for next year. When I start fantasizing about photojournalism projects and local history publications, I know I made the right choice coming over to crazyschool. Still, I need to let go of the planning and start the summer revelry. One more day.

The Response to Intervention workshop had a lot of medical talk. Sure there's more testing, but now the tests will be called "probes." And when we teach kids who are having trouble at school, we're giving them "treatment." We had the workshop so that we could read more about RTI during the summer months to get ready to organize our kids into three intervention tiers. I may have to apply CPR to myself because I'm getting really annoyed.

I'm gearing up for a new day at crazyschool. I was ticked on off on Friday when I returned a draft I had edited to a kid who did not like my editorial suggestions. She screamed, cried, threw the draft on the floor and began stomping on it with her foot. Real mature. I'm going to start over with this little peep today and try to negotiate through the publishing path. She probably doesn't realize that I have a doctorate in this exact field and know how to deal with the recalcitrant writer.

I've been having so many stupid little health issues of late. This week it's plantar
fasciitis. I limp in ouchy pain today because even though my foot was hurting
yesterday I chose to walk home from work. It gets depressing having physical ailments, but my
biggest concern is that my future trip to Montreal with Husbandman will be a wreck with me
not able to walk. I'm just flipping annoyed right now. To enhance and revel in my bad mood, I've decided to spend the day at crazyschool, typing drafts. I'm doing the family a favor, isolating myself from others.

On Saturday night I had a dream that one of my hamsters died and then came back to life and had more hamster babies. Come to find out, myfriend Kali's hamster died on Sunday. Her hamster Ollie was the offspring of one of my hamsters.

I saw a movie about women in Beirut today. It wasn't my favorite movie, just okay. The women live an odd life of balancing free spiritedness and crafty caution. The movie's Caramel and beautifully filmed, though a little ponderous. On another note, I have a weird itchy neck from photo dermatitis. Crazy talk.

We study 3 new vocab words each week. We started with adamant, moved through belittle and cajole and now just wrapped up with vivacious, wrath and eXquisite. Instructed to incorporate some of our vocabulary words into their fiction stories, the 201'ers hopped right on it. At circle check out, they shared lines like:
"It was a morose day for Jaekwon."
"Armari was jovial when he got home and started playing Dragonball Z."
Woohoo. Their stories made me feel quite gregarious.

When I was at the public library yesterday, I saw 3 copies of a book on the new book shelf. I usually pick books that have multiple copies, because that's a hint to me that the book might be popular. Come to find out, as I left the library I noticed that the very book I checked out is the ONE BOOK ONE BLOOMINGTON book choice this year. So if you want to read this book with me, I'd be really pleased. It could be a short lived book club. I've read 2 pages of the book. I quit last night so I could watch a show on people dealing with anger management issues on MTV. But now I'm getting back in to it.
